Sherry Tweed HS 1188
The Sherry Tweed Collection name derives directly from its local origins. The textile history of the area manifests itself within this classic collection of bespoke tweed fabrics from the Tweed Valley in the Borders of Scotland. The Scottish Borders is home to Holland & Sherry and stretches from beautiful high rolling hills to the west, through to its rugged east coast. The famous River Tweed flows through the gentler valleys to where it meets the sea at Berwick upon Tweed. The final twenty miles of its journey defines the border between Scotland and England. The attractiveness of tweed lies in its wonderful colorings. These are achieved by mixing several colors of pure new wool dyed fleece. Once the yarn is interlaced to create the woven fabric, up to six colors can be present in the ground cloth giving the fabric its special vibrancy.
The design of this comprehensive collection draws on the lasting appeal of traditional cloth, capturing the essence of classic tweed whilst incorporating a contemporary color palette. The broad range of color and classic pattern offers versatility for jacketing that will coordinate with shirts and ties of all colors and styles. Warm and soft to touch, attractive and durable, contemporary yet traditional, this classic collection from the Tweed Valley is the ultimate Tweed Collection
